Live Writer & Its Use

Introduction

*It is a desktop blog publishing application.

One such tool that allows this is Microsoft Windows Live Writer. Live Writer is part of the Windows Live family, which also consists of the following tools:

*Mail: Keep track of multiple e-mail accounts in one program.

*Photo Gallery: Manage all your photos from your camera to your PC.

*Movie Maker Beta: Create movies from your pictures and video clips.

Five things to do after installing live writer:

*Turn On Spell Check and define language

-Go to Tools>Options

-Under Dictionary, select a language of your choice to turn on spell checking.

-Turn on real time spell checking by selecting the 2nd option.

*Use Link Glossary

-Go to Tools-> Option->Link Glossary

*Configure FTP

(Without configuring FTP using images in your blog post is worthless, you have to manually insert image and that’s pain for you.

-Tools->Accounts>Select blog account->Edit->Image>Upload images via an FTP server->Configure FTP

*Learn The Short Cut

-new post Ctrl+N

- New page Ctrl+G etc..

*Set Blog Ping

To list your blog sites in the blog search engines and other sites to get increase traffic.

Tools->Options>Ping servers and check ‘Send pings to the URL below’ and specify the ping URLs one by one
